Busy Week!

sunny 24 °C

When it rains, it pours! This past week has been seriously busy... And it all began last Thursday when i came down with a cold. Grrr.... So i was home sick Friday and Jorge represented the both of us on Saturday at a volunteer meeting for the Toronto Swing Championships. Monday we both had doctor's appointments (finally our own family doctor in Toronto!?) which led to blood work Tuesday morning. On top of that, the past couple days have included cleaning the pad to look respectable for in-coming guests, getting my passport stuff together, looking into wedding license stuff for Jorge's mom (who will be getting married here when they visit from Europe for the month of August), and completing work on Jorge's first official wedding gig as a photographer/I put together a photo book (www.photobookcanada.com) with selected photos (i'll let you know IF we get the book and IF it looks nice since they had a shady payment option that included being charged in Singapore currency!?). Last night, friends of ours from Europe arrived and leave Friday - we met and we were part of the same Competitive International Ballroom club in Europe. This morning I passed off the wedding pics to my best bud (it was his mom's wedding), and Friday and Saturday Jorge & I are volunteering at the aforementioned championship. As can be completely expected, we have virtually nothing going on next week!?! :)

Did someone say JORGE?

There have been questions regarding the pronunciation of "Jorge". Jorge is my husband's adopted Spanish name - seeing as we are going to a Spanish-speaking country. We somehow assumed that people know how to pronounce Spanish. Our bad. So a quick clarification. In Spanish, the "j" is pronounced like a heavily aspirated "h" in English, while the "g" is pronounced the same way as the Spanish "j" (when followed by the letter "e" or "i"), and remember to roll the "r". In essence, you say, "Hor-Hay" (thanks Jasonator). And no, this isn't only a blog name. I really do call my husband Jorge at times... and scarily enough, he responds to it :)
